Need Help with new layout

Hi everyone:

I recently moved to a new home and am having difficulty in figuring out my layout design. I have a space in half of a room that is 10’ in length by 13’7" in width. I want to have my layout along the walls in this room (with a duckunder by a doorway), so that I basically have a large square with my operating area in the middle. I wish to maintain my original plans of having a two track mainline encompassing the entire layout, with a couple of industries and a gravel pit scattered off the main for switching and general freight operations. My main focus in my hobby is freight handling and in the modern era…

My layout has to be free standing and if I could I would like to utilize a design using 3 or 4 foot modules. I would greatly appreciate any and all info that people could prvide me. I have a pic of the room available if someone would like to see as an aid to help me in this.

Thank you all very much.

hi John

free standing tables along the walls will not be a problem. Modules are only modules if they can be connected at random order, so all need to have the same ends. You are probably talking about a sectional layout.

It might be easier for followers of your thread if you showed us what you have. A drawing of your room and maybe a couple of plans; so you could explain what you don’t like about them.

Have fun

Paul
