I’m new to posting to this group. I would like to know how to post picture of layout plans I’m working on. I need some help with the yard area. I would like to know what others think; will this work? I’m working in a room that is 12 x 20 and HO.
Thanks
Wayne
There is a canned response that will be more clear than what I’m going to tell you. Do a search on how do I post a picture.
First you need a layout program that will make a bitmap file.
Then you need to post it somewhere on the web. There are many free sites that will host pictures.
Then you need to put it in the form [img.]http://myhost.com/mypicture.jpg[/img.] Leaving the periods out of the tags. For simplicity, there is a button you can push when you first post that allows you to post an image.
I did the search and have been working on this picture for about an hour. I think I got it.
Thanks
Wayne
The picture will not expand in Portrait Mode. (taller than wider) There are two things you can do. Repost the picture in landscape mode (wider than taller) Or you can provide a link to the picture under the drawing using the [url.][/url.] tags. In this case, like so:

Okay. The picture is hard to read, but here is a couple things I see. Both “yard” in the upper right have turnouts with no track past them. This means that there are sections of the track that you simply cannot reach. The main yard in the upper right does not seem to have either a yard lead, nor a run-around around. I cannot see how an engine can pull into the yard to be switched out. But again, it is hard to see from the drawing. You have the space for a good yard.
Try this site, called the 10 Commandments of Yard Design:

thanks spacemouse. I was having trouble posting the picture and that should have been my thread instead of the yard question. Turns out it was my photo server that was the problem. I had worked for about an hour before I finally found out what was wrong; that’s why the picture turned out so small. I’m going to repost this in the layout forum and see if I can explain what my questions are and what suggestion people have. Thanks again about the url posting.
