Need ID of Vintage POLA-LGB building ?

Hi ALL! I just got this at a Tag Sale. I know it’s POLA-LGB because it says it on the bottom of the platform. I figured it would be easy to figure out what it was …wrong ! ANY ideas out there ? THANKS, Ted

Looks like an early version of P-6020905 track side freight shed. Missing the doors and freight dock.

In the past, many (~40%) of the Pola building products were released as “per-production test runs” were made in neutral colors. White, grey and black as a test market before major production in pre-colored polystyrene. In the “production runs” such things as eve trimming, rain gutters and downspouts, and window glazing were added to the kit. If your shed did not come with these accessories you should be able to order the doors and windows from Pola, be prepared for some trimming works as the building measurements do change over time.

The measurement changes I talk about are not due from changes to the building itself, but, rather making the walls interchangeable in other kits. Currently any wall can be cast in several different colors for use in 5 to 10 different building kits. An example is Pola’s 3 story saloon, which is composed of parts from six other Pola Products.

I bought one at a swap meet a number of years ago; a basket case–pretty much just the walls and roof much like the one above except without the base. A new base, doors, paint, and a little signage, and it cleaned up right nicely!

Later,
