I am going to have to scratch build the Alpine depot and need some photos or drawings. After an exhaustive internet search, I have come up with a few, but not enough. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am also going to try and contact any appropriate historical societies. If anybody knows of any books, that would be great as well. Thanks!!
Smitty,
I hate to disappoint you but during the week between Christmas and New Years I was camping out in that part of West Texas, and I actually stopped at the Alpine depot while watching an AmTrak train stop and exchange passengers…and I forgot to take my camera with me! If only I had remembered…sorry!
Edit: I did find this photo on the web: http://www.byrnes.org/railfan/amtrak2/amk_alp.jpg
I hope this helps.

You might try http://sptco.tnorr.com/.
I hope you enjoyed your time out there. To top you I worked in Big Bend National Park for a summer and have also been out that way to many times to count and never bothered with getting any pics. I also never got any decent pics of any of the old Santa Fe/KCM&O stuff that remains, which I could really kick myself for. I am half tempted to take a road trip.
I am modeling the Santa Fe from Alpine to Presidio as it might have been in the late 50’s if the line had been a little mor of a success. I also wanted to model the SP and this scenario gave me an excellent opportunity for interchange.
Eric: Ihave never run across that site and will give it a shot. If nothing else, I have another site to drop in my favorites. Thanks!!
