Need pics for old time passanger coach

I am building a set of overton passanger coaches from roundhouse models. I have the basic paint scheme but i am wondering about trim. Would the car be all one color or would there be trim work painted a different color? Also would the window frames be trimmed in the trim color or left to the base color?

Thanks

Mike

That would depend on the railroad and the era. When new, they may have been painted multi colors, and later in life, painted a single color on the same railroad. Or painted a single color, and later a different color on the same railroad.

PS: You may want to post this on the MODEL Railroader side of the forums. This section is for the full size trains.

Mike: As tom said you might be better off posting this request on one of the Model Railroader Forums:

No sure what an Overton Passenger Car is, but here is a link to a resource that might be of help to you:

Hope you can find what you are looking for.

Remember, only two cars like that were ever made for the Sierra railroad and they were not called Overton.

Below is a link that might give you an idea.

Search the 'Net for sierra railroad angels camp cars

The term Overton was coined by MDC/Roundhouse quite a few years ago. There was a discussion about these cars in the Prototype information for the modeler forum.

The Yahoo Early Rail Group might have some information.

Thanks for the link to the picks of passanger cars. I found 2 in the list that looks like the MDC version. Here is the link to the cars. http://donsdepot.donrossgroup.net/sfe2.jpg and http://donsdepot.donrossgroup.net/sfe3.jpg. The first one is closer in looks with the tool? box under the car. I tried posting on the model page a few months back but got no replys so I figured I would hop over to the real trains guys and see what you guys would come up with. Thanks Mike
