Need Pin-out Diagram For Tsunami BW1000

I give up,something told me not to get involved with this, did any of you try to download, the Installation Guide, not the Manual,per-say?? that is where I found the diagram’s and it was not 200 pages and I’m not even in DCC…

Cheers,

Frank

I presume that you mean this installation guide: http://www.soundtraxx.com/manuals/tsuinstallation.pdf. Yes, there is a diagram on page 22 that shows the connections, assuming that you have a decoder that comes with a harness. The OP does not have a decoder with a harness, so what he needs to see is what is under that blue or purple shrink tube. And that assumes that what is under the cover in the picture is a decoder board of the same configuration as the one which he has. I don’t believe that is the case as his is, I believe, one that is supposed to replace the loco light board.

I just spent a lot of my time, looking for things, that I should have not got involved with to begin with and it appears to me that,I do see that it does say what color goes to what pin and what the function of that color is,but I don’t know what the corresponding numbers are on the decoder are there any numbers on the decoder??? SO,I would believe,a toll free call to soundtraxx 888-789-7637,would save everyone,a lot of time…

… and still you refuse to post the url / page number where you have supposedly found this information …

I’ve looked at and downloaded every manual on their site, and there is no wiring diagram for the BW-1000 decoder. The only place I can assume that would have the wiring diagram would be the package a BW-1000 comes in … which is what I was hoping someone had.

Mark.

The only diagram in the Installation Guide, Figure 16 on page 22, shows the wiring connections for one of the standard shrink wrapped decoders. No place in that manual does it show the BW1000 or even AT1000. The Quick Start Guide has the same diagram as Figure 1, Page 7. Neither the User’s Guide or Technical Reference Guide have any wiring diagrams.

Even this AppNote for a Stewart F7, while it shows a ‘wiring diagram’ fails to show which of the headlight connections is the +!! And makes no mention of a full voltage common.

The URL is the same, for the whole page,so giving it to you,is starting at square one…I would have to read, the darn thing all over again to find it…I believe, with all due respect,I wasted enough of my time, already trying to be of some help…Please use the toll free number…

Got an e-mail back from Soundtraxx. There is no diagram for this decoder online. They scanned the instructions from the BW-1000 packaging and sent it to me.

All the function output tabs are pre-resistored for a 3.3 volt output. That tiny solder pad by the capacitor that says +14 can be used as common for full voltage output.

If you look closely, the oval solder pads are the common, and the rectangular solder pads are function outs.

Mark.

Thought that I stated this in my reply in post #4 and #8.

BTW can you post the scanned image?

might be useful for someone else.

… But you also said to contact them to make sure - which I did.

They sent me the scan as a pdf file - not sure how to post that. (?)

Mark.

Mark,

I am very happy, that you got that resolved…[tup]

Frank

Oh well at least you now have the scan to refer to for wiring up the decoder.

Can you save the pdf and save it to your photos and then post?

Yes, please post the diagram, that way whe I take the one out of my FT to repalce with a Loksound and sell it on eBay I can include a wiring diagram for the purchaser [:D]

Took me a few minutes to figure out how to save the pdf files as jpegs …

Mark.

Mark,

Well I’ll be a SOB,When I read about what color goes to what number,it would have been a breeze,if we knew what the heck the numbers were on the board…Any way,[tup]
