Need some good ole advice. (please)

I have my garden railroad under construction but needed something to build indoors,It is a shelf layout(only on 3 walls)it doesnt go around the whole room.

I bought one n gauge loco and some supplies thinking I would do n gauge, and have one continuous loop and a bunch of sideing, but the shelves are only 18" wide.

Heres my dilema,I have a bunch of HO trains stored away in the garage, some nice locos and a ton of box cars ect. Should I just do a point to point in HO?
or try to cram little turns in N gauge? or maybe just a point to point in n gauge.

I guess I just want some advice, before I put any more $$$ into n gauge.

Thanks and Happy holidays.
Mike

Since you have an 18" width to work with, how about using those stored HO cars and locos and maybe putting in a point to point layout with an emphasis on switching? I think you could fit some industries in with no problem. Walthers makes some nifty ‘modular’ industries that are little more than 3/4" deep fronts, and with some loading docks, you could have a line of warehouses. And with 18" of space, you’d have plenty of room for yard tracks and spurs.
