I just got a bunch of train stuff from a friend of mine. He’s got a Nickel Plate Products that has C.B&Q K-2 Ten Wheeler marked on the box.My question is this,I noticed that on Ebay, the one’s in the box and from that company like mine, are painted train models, mine has a “brassy” look to it.Are they more valuable painted or left with the brass looking finish?Any kinda advise, info,or help would be much appreciated.
Many brass models are sold unpainted and most buyers would prefer that it still had its factory finish. As for value of being painted, depends on what the buyer would prefer.
I think you may be inquiring about scale models. If so, you will get better results by posting on the Model Railroader Magazine forum. This forum is concerned with “toy” trains, mostly in O and S gauge.
