Here is a picture of an area on my layout, that I can’t decide what to do with. It’s behind the town, from the wall outward , over the 3 tracks. There isn’t much room between tracks. I thought, maybe, trees or bushes.
I’d appreciate your suggestions…( You, too, Jim )
Thanks, Chuck
Here’s another view, before I put the buildings in…
I started to put some “mounds” using spray foam. This can give the felling that the land was cut to lay the track. I usually add trees and ground cover. Looks OK.
If you look behind the C&O Hudson you can sort of see…
I am assuming that you are keeping the buildings there, is that correct? If so, how about a combination parking lot/park near the station platform. You would be able to put some vehicles/people in the area and also be able to add some greenery.
Chuck,
Since this is a city scene, why not an elevated passenger station? You could leave the track exposed using some posts and griders. You could even paint them Blueberry Blue to go along with the fantabulous bridge you FINALLY got placed! [;)]
How about some rolling hills with tunnels to break up the straight lines behind the buildings?
Lines of blueberry bushes along the main lines?
Can you relocate the station, move the buildings forward, and put a street in front of the buildings to include the trolley line? Build wood fences behind the buildings, and add industry behind the houses along the main lines.
That shouts for a scratch built coal tipple. Collecting old copies of model builder has corrupted me into feeling the need to build some structures the “model builder” way…
Look forward to seeing what grows there. I like the idea of a trolley line as Kurt suggested or even a small oval. With 027 track you can really snake something to peek in and out from view blocks (your buildings).
Like BUCKEYE said about the telephone poles. I too am considering this along with somw slender trees and a few deer and maybe my 800 lb bear? Looks good.
