Need to download train sounds

I have to do a Powerpoint presentation for school (college) and want to do it on modern toy trains. I believe one of the most exciting parts of model trains is the vastly improved engine sounds compared to what my father had and want to include these sounds in my slides.

Does anyone know where I can download train sounds? (I would prefer Lionel’s Railsounds because I am focusing on O-gauge trains and layouts. ) I have found some sites that have train sounds but can’t download them because they are protected or don’t run as Windows Media Player. (I am limited to what is installed on the PCs in the classroom.)

Any suggestions?

Just do a Google search for train sounds. Some that come up will be models and some will be real trains. I’ve got over a hundred by doing this. Right click on the file and use the “save target as” option and this should solve your playing problem.
Don’t know about Lionel sounds, but some of the sound decoder companies have sound files on their sites to demonstrate their sounds.
Don’t have any links to give you right now. Sorry
Good luck and[#welcome]

or here

click on the train model then right click on Sound byte and “save target as” to wherever you want to store it

Many thanks for your help.

I started with Google and that is how I found this site. I saved this site to visit later because my purpose in that computer session was to find train sounds. The few sites I visited just weren’t giving me what I needed. Good train sounds were Quick Movie which isn’t loaded on the classroom PC. Other train sounds were less than 10 seconds which really isn’t long enough to get the thrill that comes from train sounds. The best train sounds were on a site that indicated you could download them but right clicking produced “Please do not link to our web site”.

I want to open my presentation with the picture of an engine coming at the viewer and sounds cranked up to the max. Once I have their attention, I intend to show the advancement of trains since their fathers were kids, specifically train sounds and remote control.

Thanks for the suggestions. This homework assignment is going to be FUN!

Try Microsoft site in search area type templates, then when there type in train sounds.

sorry about that I meant clipart.

These are all wav. files that can be played with almost any wav format player. I f you want files longer than 30-60 seconds, your going to have have to buy them.
There are CD’s out there but they"re not cheap.

30 seconds will be fine. The presentation is supposed to last 10 minutes. Maybe I could change my presentation and take the whole time showing different pictures of trains and the whistles/horns they have!

I have about two weeks before I have to give my presentation so I have lots of time to review the sites suggested. MANY thanks!
