I have taken a few pics of what I have upstairsand would like your input on a track plan and any other info that may be useful.
The first two pics are looking Soute down the center wall which will probley be removed. Please excuse the mess, I still have a lot of cleaning to do.

The final pic is of the end of the room, The closet and the wall on the left can be remover.

There is adiquit electricity and can be heated and cooled rather easy. Looking foreward your input. Thanks. Mike
For orientation purposes, Mike, I don’t get a good sense of the space you have. A diagram is going to be better for me. And how much room do you have of what you show/draw for us?
Are you thinking around the wall, some pensinulas, multileveled toward the inner walls…? What is the theme, long golly-runs with sweeping curves and mostly main, generally industrial and switching, a healthy dose of both…?
I was think ofmaybe a double line main with some long sweeping curves through a country side with another line to serve the industries. That way if I feel like I want the train to run in a continuos loop that I can sit back and watch, or have a line that I can run on and have the industries more or less on the second linr. I could also be able to go from one line to the other by simply throwing a turn out. Am I making any sence? Mike
It would be greatly helpful to yourself, and to us, to measure your rooms, write them down, and make a scale drawing of your rooms. Then, if you use layout planning software, you can draw out the walls, etc., and have a better idea of what you can do, and what will fit. I would first draw out the walls, then save that as a “blank slate”, so if your ideas don’t work out, you can simply re-load the blank slate and start again. Once you have a basic plan in place, save it in JPG format, upload it to a photo hosting website (many of us here use www.photobucket.com) and link it in your message so we can get an idea of what you are trying to do. Then we can give good input.
As it is now, you have something of an operating concept in mind, and that’s a start. Now, run with that and see what you can come up with.
Brad
see if this helps it is pretty much to scale ( 1/4’’ = 1 ') The layout I have can be changed. This ismostly where I need your help for now. Mike

Is the layout depicted what is in place or what you are thinking of making?
If it is what you are contemplating, you will necessarily, given the dimensions I see, be restricted to point-to-point. You have no realistic way of turning trains on a continuous run in HO scale. If you are in N, you are fine, although not entirely generous. The reason I say this is because your bench is only 36" wide, and that limits your safe curves to about 16" in radius.
Thanks for the input, selector, but the benchwork is all just sort of a starting point drawn on paper with a pencil, it can all be changed. There is also another room on the north, but I do not wish to include the guest room in the trainroom. Mike
