Neolube - does it work well? (pic)

Anyone tried that Neolube #2 that I see in the Micromark catalogue? I want to tone down the connecting rods on my Heisler (see picture) and the shafts on my Roundhouse Shays. What happens if it get on plastic? Pro-cons?
