Nettles and Brambles?

I can’t recall whether I’ve asked this before or not…

How do people model brambles and nettles please?

I think that I’ve probably asked about brambles before… but what about nettles as well?

And then there’s gorse… or blueberry bushes…

TIA

I’ve had my fill of nettles. Won’t find them on my layout.

Find them in my store though. Good for allergy relief.

They’re okay in bottles then ? [:P]

I recall now, I asked before about ivy and poison ivy not brambles…

Do you get hog weed and Japanese knot weed?

TIA [8D]

If you make bushes using long haired faux fur and don’t trim the hairs it will resemble brambles and wild rose.

I have a web article about making bushes at:

Great looking bushes [:D]

I’m wondering about modelling the long strands of bramble that sneak out across any space next to the big bush and get into trees.

With nettles I’m thiking something like wheat with green stems and leaves?

I’m tempted to ask what sort of Animal a faux is and whether it lives near RR tracks - but I’ll behave myself. [:-,]

Thanks for the link [:)]

Forgive my complete ignorance on the subject please - what sort of country does sage brush grow in? It’s sort of in all the western movies but would it be prairie, desert, Pacific coast, New England or any combination? TIA [8D]

ED: I’ve just looked at your article in another window… Those are some great looking bushes! [bow][bow]

I use WS Field Grass for tall grass and rushes:

Here I used a combination of WS Foliage netting, and polyfiber coated with ground foam. I teased out the polyfiber, sprayed with hair spray, then dunked them in the foam and struck them on the layout.

This is WS Flowering Foliage and some bits of WS Clump Foliage:

These are some polyfiber balls and ground foam. Rather then rolling the balls in foam, here I glued the bare polyfiber in place. Then I spritzed them with hair spray and blew the ground foam onto them. This created the vines on the tree trunks at the same time.

Sage brush,There are several kinds, but we’ll be talkin 'bout the gray blue variety as found generally west of the Mississipi River to the Rocky Mts. in the west, but not generally west of the rockies,at least in the Pacific Northwest. It may grow as high as 8 feet but is generally only about 4ft. Ground foam dyed a light blue gray simulates it pretty well. In certain areas where it is thick and the sun is low in the evening it may appear to have a purple tinge, which would be hard to simulate except maybe for a backdrop painting.
