The Nevada State Railroad Museum is worth a visit to Nevada alone (forget about casinos). I hope the 4-4-0 Baldwin, Eureka will become an animate part of the museum collection someday.
I love those 19th century wood burners! Yes, Nevada is worth a visit. The Virginia and Truckee is nearby and the Portola Railroad Museum is not that far (yes, it’s in California). Nevada Northern is a significant drive across most of the state, but it is a scenic drive on route 50, known as “The Loneliest Road in America”.
Was the engine converted to Standard Gauge when the S.P. bought the lumber line? Or is the Glenbrook still Narrow Gauge. I would be so happy to see this beauty run again!!
