Nevada Northern 2013 winter steam spectacular (photos)

All,

Last month I spent 9 days at the Nevada Northern Railway for their winter steam spectacular excursions; follow the above link to my photos from the event.

Like Orbisonia or Chama, Ely is well off the beaten path - an adventure just to get there. But it’s a step into to the past, a living museum frozen (on this trip literally) in time. A must see for any steam fan, on my short list to return again.

There’s a lot to view in this gallery; the more you look the more you see…

Enjoy,

Matthew

Great photos Matthew, thank you for sharing. I will make it out there one of these days.[:D]

Thanks for sharing! They are beautifull photos!

Wow, what type of camera did you use? Thank you for sharing.

All these photos were taken with a Canon 5D MkIII and 5D MkII.

Thanks all,

Matthew

Matthew,

What an amazing post!! Your photographs are truly spectacular. You have a wonderful eye for seeing things the rest of us might easily pass by without noticing. Your camera brand/model is a very capable instrument, but these photos are the work of a skilled crafts person. Thanks so much for sharing. (And enduring -8 F while you were there). [tup]
