Will the shells from an older run of P2K SD7/9s fit on the newer, sound-eqquiped chassis?
I’m curious as to this, since my SD9s have clips that attach the shell to the chassis, and I haven’t seen the new P2K SD7s in person so I have no way of knowing.
Never tried it. But the new SD7’s have better coupler mounting and other small improvements. I have the two sound ones and one analog old SD7 that I use as a war pig on the test stand. Off the top of my head I dont think the two shells will fit each other’s frames.
How are the shells on the new sound-equipped ones attached to the chassis?
On the pictures from walthers, I can see that the pilots are still detachable, and the coupler mounting looks about the same.
I have 2 older Gp9s, both were non-sound DCC, but the chassis from the new run with sound fits. The only difference is the fuel tank was attached by a screw as opposed to the usual double tape.
So I’m hoping it will, but from you answer it seems like it won’t.
