Tsunami 2 is the big news in the June announcement along with some UP SD70ACe’s in the UP heritage schemes. Plus F units in just DC and DCC.
I’m in for a couple of the UP heritage units.

I’ve seen two video clips [Clip 1, Clip 2] posted recently in the Electronics and DCC forum on the new Tsunami 2 decoders. The locomotives were noticeably jerky at low-speed so it doesn’t appear that they addressed the so-so motor-control of the Tsunamis, which is disappointing. Counting rail ties, starting speed from the 2nd video clip appears to be ~4sMPH. [:S]
You would think with an update of this magnitude that Soundtraxx would see the need to improve motor-control to keep up with their competitors, who have been successful with that for years. Perhaps the motor-control can be improved with a bit of tweaking? Maybe…but I’m somewhat doubtful it will rival the likes of Loksound and TCS.

Motor control has been vastly improved according to a local dealer who tested the new Tsunami 2 decoder.
Also a video don’t always give you the right picture during movement but until we get them in our hands we really will not know.
Well, I hope that’s the case with the new Tsunamis, David. I won’t believe any dealer though until I actually see one do 1sMPH or less with my own eyes.
