Is BN Going to be one of the SD70MAC’s?

I hope so. I need something to pull Walther’s NSPX coal hoppers coming out in April.

i dont know if BN will be in the first run, but from the previous emails they have sent out Athearn plans to do just about every phase and every roadname of the SD70MAC.

That’s great news but when I checked at my LHS he said I’ll have to use a PLATINUM card to get one.Gonna be $$$$$$ from what he heard. I don’t need another $150 engine

So there will be models of the new CSX flared SD70MACs. I hope that you do them. also would you be able to do the new AER locomotives. i will be able to email you a drawing of what they look like.

Athearn’s formal announcement came out yesterday. The first wave will include four variations: (3) BNSF Premium Heritage units, (3) BN Executive units, (3) BNSF Executive units, the special green warbonnet # 9647, and (3) CSX units. No undecorated models were mentioned in the announcement.

There were 11 different 70MAC versions described in the announcement. I assume their plan is to eventually produce them all, but they don’t say that. And they don’t mention anything about flared radiators, so I guess there could be more than 11 versions produced by the time all is said and done. Time will tell.
