New Atlas MP15

Here are some desktop shots of the new Atlas O MP15 we received this week.

Side view

and a cab shot… the crew faces long hood forward on this version.

Bob, Just a question on the Atlas, Atlas engines in general. The Atlas diesel set my LHS got in is very nice, but the one draw back for me, is that fact that the horn has already been sequenced in. Has this been a “concern” or question why this was done. I obviously like to “blow my own horn”[:-^]

Bob;

Sneaky plug for the competition by putting the locomotive on an orange and blue box complete with logo to take the pictures!!! [8D] [;)] [^]

Yes, Mel, that was the first thing I noticed too. Bob is sneaky, but you’ve got to hand it to him, he’s pretty good at it! [:D]

Seriously, thanks Bob for repeatedly taking the time to share pictures of the stuff that wind up in your inbox. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.

If we were you, we’d have to take a rather large briefcase to work with us to “liberate” the new stuff we see in your pictures.

Jack

That isn’t an orange and blue box, it is a padded section that dealers can get to place on counter tops to show off locomotives to potential customers.

I use it as my mouse pad though it is 12x18 inches. Shown is the pad-free desk.

Here is a followup on the Dirty Dogz van - the photos last week showed them to be gold.

They are “black” but it is a toned down chemical blackening, though it picks up and reflects the light.

The whole wheel is metal, as the pic shows. There are to tiny pickup rollers about 2 1/2 inches apart.

Bob - thanks for the pre-previews!

Any chance we’ll see you at York? Will they let you outta the barn?

Kent and I’ll be there!

Bob;

Thanks for the clarification. Just had to rib you a bit.[:D]

Oh, I know.

I had been thinking of using a Grain belt beer pad - the Grain belt logo would have been a terrific railroad logo i.e. The Grain Belt Ry.

Is the new MP15 under the Trainman brand? Or their ‘regular’ stock - it sure looks sharp.

It is one of their Master line diesels, $479.95 powered, 279.95 un-powered.

It’s even more gorgeous in person. One thing to check out is whether the screws fastening the

pickups to the trucks are too tight. Both mine were sheared off and I had to get replacement

truck fixtures from Atlas. Others have had a similar problem, so it’s not a one off.

I got the photos back from the studio yesterday and I was astonished at the detail I didn’t see - even when it was sitting two feet from me. Little things like icons for fire extinguishers, first aid kits, red receptacle caps, and clear wind screens on the side windows. Truly amazing.

This sure isn’t my childhood 6250!

AWESOME!!! Will you be bringing your lab coat and goggles?

Maybe my orange hardhat …

Hey, I’ve got LEGO Minifigs that have hats just like that!

Don’t tell me it sounds like a Williams ! [oops]
