I just bought one and was wondering what is the part that runs along the roof in the center like a long pipe antenna maybe? and the pipes that point down there are 4 or 5 of them on the under charage what are they?

On the roof, it’s a radio antenna. My belief is that it is a receiving antenna for an AM radio in the lounge area.

Pipes pointing downwards are either “poop chutes” or steam discharge pipes. The latter will commonly have a “nub” on the bottom, the former not.
