New building project -- computer generated

I tried my “next generation” of computer modeled buildings. This time I printed the walls, cut out the windows, and used plastic for “glass” and then glued everything to black foamcore. A mini-tutorial and pictures can be found on my blog. I’d like to hear what you guys think.

thanks!

Looks good, though I don’t like the flat faced ness of the doors. Otherwise, awesome!

Just my [2c]. Like it counts.

Hello,

I think they look great and custom Heights could expand a city scene.

Is this Ho Or N scale? Is a program available for N Scale Buildings?

Thanks Hogwire

Great work I like them.

Nicely done! It’s good to seem some ingenuity coming back to the hobby here in the age of the $50 built up.

You could add some additional dimension by applying strip styrene or wood dollhouse mouldings for cornices, window sills and other details. It would also be a simple thing to cure the door issue noted above by purchasing some commercial door castings.

Looks great!!! How would it look if you printed a second set of walls on card stock - 110lb paper available from office depot etc - and used the window/door trim and extra brickwork to glue on to add extra depth? Again, great job!![:)]

Looks good and is one step better than using CAD drawings on foam core for

Temp Mock ups

Looks good.

When I read the title the image that popped into my head was the back drop of your layout being flat panel computer monitors with images displayed on them.

How cool would that be, though. (expensive, I know) The background could then be “fluid”. You could program the clouds to move, storm clouds form, the sun would move during the day, back ground buildings could have smoke come from their stacks, etc…

Looks good. You made some nice buildings there.

I’ve been seriously contemplating getting the program and it was good to see what someone has done with it. I downloaded their little sample building to try out and it was pretty good. Not sure what I’m going to do with the building though. I do have one big question which maybe you or someone else can answer. I want to model a specific building, or at least a reasonable facsimile of it. I took a bunch of photographs of the building with measurements. Would this program let me duplicate the windows and walls of this building or do I have to go with what’s in the program?
