I caught the new Chicago South Shore and South Bend RR. (NICTD) new double decker cars in revenue service. I stopped at the Carroll Ave station and inquired if the new cars were running. I really lucked out. The new cars were carrying passengers and leaving Carroll West bound at 10:43.
I caught a rail rider car waiting West of Carroll Ave. it was about 45 minutes before the 10:30 East bound was to arrive.
I was on 11st West of Franklin St. I caught the East bound coming down 11st.

East bound Crossing Washington St.

New #300 Double decker cars #317 in lead heading West bound. It is pulling into Franklin St station.
How many side doors do the South Shore double deck cars have? From your photos it seems as if the cars only have one center door on each side, and the doors don’t seem to have folding steps. Do all of the South Shore’s stops only have high level platforms?
How safe is the neighborhood on 11th Street west of Franklin Street in Michigan City?
I just reviewed the video I posted in “photobucket”. The cars have a double door in the center of the car and a single door under the panagraph.
All doors are made for high level access. The end doors under the pans have stairs for street level access non-folding.
Please attempt to view the video in photobucket. I would like to know if someone else can follow the link. That is the first time I downloaded a video. I attempted to post it like a photo but it did not link like photos do.
