New Camera, New Layout Pic!

I finally replaced the camera that I broke last month when I fell during a snow storm. I mananaged to score a Minolta 5D digital SLR on clearance (50% off!). So here’s my first test of the new camera:

Nick

Looks good , nice and clear. How many pixels is it ? Glad you got a good score on the camera, theyv’e really come down in price this year.

I don’t know if it is the camera or the photographer, but that is a nice pic. Nice scene as well. May we expect more now for a while???

Nice pic…both the subject and the quality.

Great pix. Nice detail Can we see more[bow]

Nice work, both the picture and the scene look great! May we see more soon?

It’s nice to be back in business, isn’t it, Nick? [:D]

Nice layout, and good imaging. Have fun!

Thanks guys. I’ll be happy to share more.

Gappleg - it’s a 6.1 megapixel. The 5D (and the entire Minolta line) has been discontinued. It’s replacement, the Sony Alpha, is 10 megapixels. There is much debate among by photography friends as to whether 10 is really that much better then 6.

Art - it’s partly the equipment. I believe, that good photography is still mostly the photographer’s technical skill and artistic eye.

Selector - It is good to have a camera again. I wish my wrist was as easy to fix.

NICE!!! Love the pic’s… I concur… good photography is in the eye of the photographer…but it also takes good equipment!

[#offtopic]Just as food for thought → some company produced gigapixel cameras (I think for telescopes), there was a shot taken across the grand canyon that was so clear, you could zoom in on people standing on the other side with no pixelation/distortion[wow]

If you had one of those for a layout, you could see the model ants in Mrs. Smith’s back yard, LOL!

Great work. [tup] You can spend hours composing the right pictures. That should be a great camera for sharing photos with us.

Thanks for sharing,

Sue
