New Clinchfield layout Videos

Guys: I have uploaded new layout videos of trains running and OP sessions on Youtube for my North End Elkhorn Extension layout set in 1975. I have been working on the layout since 1975 and it has the upper level fully sceniced.

Bob,

That really looks good, very impressive. That’s the kind of stuff that makes me get up off my “butt” and work on my layout. Thanks for the video.

Jim

Is that train going to Bostic?

Thanks for the kind words. Check out my other videos on Youtube for more of the layout.

Bob

Train 97 North is runing North from Erwin to Elkhorn Kentucky. I model the North End from Dante to Elkhorn with staging yards on both ends point to point in a 44x32 basement.

Great video. Is the sound in the video from sound decoders in the diesels?

Great job Bob, I’m looking forward to more videos.

Larry

Sound is all generated with Tsunami decoders on the layout. I have a bass subwoofer hooked up for the low end on the videos but its all recorded live using TSU decoders.

Bob

Larry: I like your layout and videos as well. Clinch Valley is real close around here. Looks like you model from Knoxvile to Somewhere in Virginia freelanced?

Bob

You got it. From Knoxville up to Huntington, WV. I use the Southern App line to Norton, Clinch Valley N&W over to Richlands/Cedar Bluff then up to Iaeger/Warncliffe and finally the C&O Logan Sub. If you have a copy of the Sept 2008 issue of MR, check out Tony’s Trains of Thought article.

Real nice layout and great video

Larry: I noticed your V&O engines in your photos section. Are those from Allen McClelland’s old layout or did you paint them? I went up there to visit his layout in 96 and took alot of photos.

Bob

I had the decals done and painted them myself. I needed an excuse to get a few Alcos on the layout. The color of blue is wrong, I’ll repaint them - someday.
