I guess this is new. I just saw it advertised in the Model Railroad News. This looks like a terrific idea and should really be a benefit for Digitrax users.
I’ve always felt that the Digitrax website was far and away the best of all the DCC suppliers. It’s easy to read with great product descriptions, with products very well explained and just jam-packed with helpful info. To me, a website like this speaks well of a company’s commitment to their products and customers, and their technical ability in making clear just what they offer. I wish the other manufacturers would follow suit.
I noticed it earlier this month when I was looking for an answer to a minor problem I was having with a pair of decoders in an Athearn F7 A-B set. Found it too and have since corrected the fault. I didn’t know that I couldn’t (or at least am not supposed to) do first time programming on the main for user installed decoders (other than Bachmann) with the EZ Command. It’s supposed to be done on a programming track. So I set the decoders back to address 3 and put the specified resistor (100 ohm, 10 watt wire-wound) in-line with my system and reprogrammed the decoders for address 02 and now the problem is gone. I would still be trying to figure out what the problem was and pulling my hair out if it hadn’t been for this help section.
That has been around since beginning of 2007 and even late 2006, just look at the dates on some of the documents. I’ve been going to it since last year to get all the info I could get regarding DCC and Digitrax products.
This is not new to me. Maybe it has changed slightly, but not to me.
