New England Modelers ME, NH, VT?

Anyone out there model NE railroads past or present? My RR is/will be a modern regional working the Maine Coast from Portsmouth, NH north to Canada, interchanging with MMA, GRS, and StL&A.

[;)][:)]I will run New Haven passenger / commuter trains (circa 1960s).

One of the counter guys at Happy Hobo Trains in Tampa actually owns a batch of HO scale streamlined, American Flyer type cars that NH used. They’re in great condition and he’s selling them. ( He’s letting me have a first look before he sells them to anyone else). I will also be using Proto 1000 NH RDCs, which for the price are beautiful, smooth running units.

I just wish someone would make an EP5A in H.O! [:P][#dots][swg]

I live in new england and I see a lot of CSX

I model the MEC , in Bath ,Maine. I grew up in Bath , so I figured that would be appropriate for me. I model the Maine Central, and a newcomer , Safe Handling Rail Inc. , which is out of Rockland, Maine. They run the trackage that runs through Bath and the surrounding areas. Just remember… Whatever works for you…works for you!!!

I was stationed at Brunswick twice. The last time the spur from Brunswick Jct to Augusta…never sure exactly who owned it ran through my back yard…literally in Topsham. I did ride the the MCL leaf train with the RS11 a couple of years ago.

Was Safe Handling using LLPX GP15s? The line behind our house was MDOT owned but as far as who was running it, I couldn’t tell. They used leased GPs for power. Then it sat dormant for a long time, then someone started doing work on the line just before we left. I do rmember seeing the RS11 many years ago, in revenue service bringing cement cars from Rockland.

Some thing like this?

Very nice pic. What were you doing in my old back yard?[:)]

Just watching the Blue Birds!!

To dharmon: Yes, Safe Handling was/is using LLPX(Locomotive Leasing Partners LLC.) GP-15-1s to be exact. I have heard they have units 1500 through 1508, but don’t hold me to it!!! I personally have only seen #s 1501 & 1507.

I’m just getting into the hobby and I have decided to do a New haven line. I grew up in Southern NH, went to school and lived in RI, and am now in Southern MA. I’ve decided to do a New Haven line, 1950’s theme, because there seems to be a wide selection. I could also add providence-worcester, or boston-maine if I wanted to. : )
