Good Griefff ! Why mess with what was working fine. Probably for the stupid smart phones. The world is turning into a bunch of zombies walking around looking down at their phones and stumbling off curbs and in one case that I know of a lady walked out of the grocery store right into the side of a truck driving through and knocked her down and then wanted to sue the driver. Yes the phone was destroyed by the truck and the woman will recover. Don’t mess with what has worked so well. Doug
The site was in need of some upgrades. The compatibility issue for IE8/9, but I agree that some of the changes may help the volume and their server, but may of the old features worked far better. And that permission glitch w/ the normal post- a real pain. Just hppened w/ posting this as well. There’s some bugs to work out for sure! It’s a real shame to loose the post count- let’s not get PC here. The post count and foolish repies to boost it, are rare, the post count really helped to identify a “newbie” if the user doesn’t specify they are. Realizing a newbie has helped with many repies and the way they are welcomed as well as the nature/ tone of the replies.

Just a quick test. It would not let me post yesterday even though I’m logged in.
Too bad they did not upgrade the photo insert functions. Why not take jpeg files from my computer? Other forums seem not to have a problem with that.

We also lost the page count which let you know how big a discussion is. And while the new format might make smartphone, phablets and tablets easier to read, it is a waste for a PC with large monitor.

Have to disagree. I’m on several internet forums (not all RR related) and this one was the most archaic and clunkiest of them all. Give them some time to work out any bugs and add some enhancements.
I have to admit that I haven’t had much of a chance to explore the new format. However, there is one glitch that is already driving me crazy! Whenever I am done reading a post and want to return to the forum to search other posts, I have to click on the “back arrow” no less than four times (sometimes more) before I get back to the forum. What’s up with that?

It’s all hyperlinked – you can navigate back as far as you wish with one click. And that’s not a new feature, either.
That said, I’m disappointed with the loss of the post counter, but more significant is the ability to only display posts newer than a selected age. I really liked that one. If you can do it on the new system, I haven’t figured it out yet. And this software doesn’t appear to work any better or worse on my smartphone than the old one.
I haven"t had time to learn the new site either. Just checking to see if my avatar is displaying. It isn’t in who’s online now.
