new forum

I have plenty of gripes for the current forum, it has to always load up its features and images and me still on 56k this really drags down trying to even interact when I wait…and wait for loadings. I block ad images to try to open up the data channels, its tough for some reason in Firefox, Google chrome works better but somehow this forum and Chrome dont get along well with formatting. If you want to know anout really good forums, if you are familiar with gaming check out the EPIC forums, then also check the railway preservation forums, which is always zippy for me. All the image loading and stuff I know doesnt much matter for you DSl users and high speed, but a few like me where I am still in the boonies (and DSL is only a few miles away) I still can’t get high speed. There are better forums technically out there and I hope the new forum works better on the technical level. Now back to your regularly scheduled Model Railroad discussion. (still working on my layout modding a Brass NKP NKP 4-6-4 for headlights, mars light and DCC, gonna look cool)

The format of the forum has nothing to do with anything regardless of features any forum may have it’s your upload speed which is significantly lower then 56K Try looking into satellite internet svc.

I was in your situation a few years back and we finally were able to get Fios in our neck of the woods We did have a choice of Comcast cable but I hate Comcast so it was a no brainer to go with Fios and I have absolutely no regrets.

Let go the anguishes of the past. The future is ahead.

Yeah, those of us with slower Internet connections have a [heck] of a time with graphics-intensive web sites. [:(!]

As a business, our hosts must do what they can to keep up to the evolving tastes, interests, and needs of the majority of their clients. As clients shift in capabilities and desires for both content and format, so our hosts must try to keep pace. This next roll-out should be a welcome step in that direction.
