(Binghamton, NY - AP) — New York state’s transportation commissioner has been chosen to oversee the Federal Railroad Administration.
Joseph Boardman has worked for the state Department of Transportation for the past decade. During the 1980s, Boardman was the Broome County public transportation commissioner in Binghamton. He was one of the founders of the New York Public Transit Association.
Yesterday afternoon the White House announced Boardman has been nominated to be the next administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration. His nomination must be approved by the US Senate.
