New guy here!

Hi, my name is Kenny and I live in De Pere, WI, located down the street from Green Bay… witch everybody knows the location of. I got started in model railroading as a memory to my grandfather and great uncle who worked on the Green Bay and Western.

I have a 4x8 layout inspired by the Turtle Creek Central published in the January 2003 issue of Model Railroader. It is a near match with some modifications, of course, for future expansion…since this section of the layout is nearing completion.

I have to say that I love model railroading eventhough I had to teach myself everything that I have learned over the years. I love to build models and do scenery, over running my trains, I am gun shy rolling stock failure.[:'(] I hope that I will be able to get healp in this department in the future.

Thanks for visiting.[:D]

Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the forum. Learning stuff yourself is a good way to go. Just dive right in. You’ll make plenty of mistakes and learn alot. The trick is recovering from those mistakes gracefully.[:$]

There is a “search our communtiy” feature on the right side margin if you know what key words to type in.[wow]

Welcome to the forum. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. You will get many different answers and the majority of them are really good. It will be up to you to choose the best technique that will fit your needs to answer any questions you may have. Everyone can and does things differently and there is really no "right " answer to any one of your questions. Having fun in this hobby is the bottom line.

There are folks here that have a lot of knowledge about MRRing and have been in the hobby for years and there is no better place to get answers to your questions than this forum. (Just remember to stay away from Crandell…he’s a know it all… JUST KIDDING Crandell! LOL You’re a great guy! ) Seriously, there are some really good modelers here that are more than happy to give you a hand…chuck

Kenny, you lucky son of a gun! I’ve never been up to Wisconsin, and you can tell by my screename, well, yeah…
