On some peoples sigs I see little drawings of trains. I believe they are called gifs. How do I put these in my signature?
With the image tag just like you use to post pictures in your posts, only put it in with “If only our layouts were as big as our addiction to trains!!!” Fred
Big Blue,
The first thing you need to do is post the pictures you want to a website somewhere. You either have to do this using your own website, or you can go to one of the sites that have free image hosting and upload your pictures there. One of the more popular free image hosting sites is www.photobucket.com
Then come back to this website and go to the page where you can update your forum profile. In the top section, there will be two text fields for your signature. One is for text only, and the other is for graphics - the one that displays depends on the settings on the individual’s computer who is reading your post at the time (these days, most folks will see the graphics version).
Once you have pictures on the web, in the “graphics version” field on your profile, you’ll need to type in the URL of the picture with the “img” commands (img) and (/img) at either end of the URL (except you’ll have to replace the parenthesis with the straight bracket symbols).
Good luck.
Mine stopped working
testing only
Thanks stokesda, I was wondering how it was done. Now I know.
No problemo. And if you want to do a cool miniature train like mine below, you have to upload a separate gif file for each loco and piece of rolling stock, then simply daisy chain the image URL addresses together in your signature block [:D]
I’m just testing mine as well.
