New HO Scale Model Railroad Club in St. Louis Missouri

Hey fellow model railroad enthusiasts,

I am interested in starting a new HO scake model railroad club in the St. Louis or St. Charles area. I would like modelers of all ages and skill levels to feel free to contact me. I would like to emphasize my desire for realistic operations, realistic scenery, and a modern era (90’s-now) on this HO scale layout. I have been into model railroading for a long time (for being 35) and don’t have the space or finances to finish a large layout on my own. I’m sure there have to be others in my same situation, besides operating a layout by yourself isn’t much fun anyways. Please contact me with a short bio, including your location and your skill set. I would like us all to meet and finalize a wish list for the layout and then I will find a location that will work for everybody.

Thanks!
Jeff

I check out the layout in Warrenton everytime I go to the LHS there. They’ve got a pretty neat space to build in and its nice its open to the public also. I picked up an application for the club the last time I was there, but I like the transititional period, so …

Warrenton is not that far away from me. I went to the clubs website, but there is no location of the layout, no times or directions to get there. No information on their layout, or what period, scale, or railroads their modeling. ???

STL SOO Fan, welcome to the site! Have you heard of K-10 Model Trains? It’s is in Maryville IL and is my LHS / Club. Every Thursday there is a club active, onces a month we run OP’s. Here is a link.

I am lucky, I only live 2 miles from the shop.

Web site is still being established, but here you go

regular club meetings are first tues of the month at the clubhouse in the Warrenton Mall.

right now the suite number is #13, but the club is moving to a larger suite, (doulble the size) #20 sometime in the next month.

the Lay out is of modular design, and the setting is mainly mid-west modern, any road is welcome, and the modern train rule is for operations sessions only. Digitrax DCC is the control system, using the new duplex system, and standard radio/IR.

the layout is being built by the HO SIG with the general club, and there is also a N scale SIG beginning, as well as interest in a three rail O SIG.

Any club member may operate on the layout during open sessions wether a member of the SIG or not.

work sessions for the HO SIG are Thurs, with the open running times on fri eve, sat and sun during the day, and other times can be arranged with one of the conductors to be there and open the club house

the HO SIG meets the furst sunday eve of every month for a business meeting
