New HO Scale RTR Rolling Stock Mfr?

Was wondering if any of you guys have heard of or may have any cars from Frank Hubert’s Model Railroad Mfg.Corp.? I’ve never heard of them or him for that matter.

I found this store on eBay when looking for Hi-Cube TTX boxcars:

Apparently they’ve got 'em in 10 different road numbers as well as many other RailBox boxcars. The price of them leads me to think that they should be of decent quality. Anybody here know anything about them before I order anything from this place? How do they compare to Athearn, Atlas or Intermountain in terms of detail and crispness of the graphics?

Thanks in advance.

Ted,

I was wondering the same thing. I saw them for the first time in my LHS about a month or so ago. They do look decent enough.

There was mention of them in another thread, they replaced another company. And yes, they do look nice. There’s an actual website I think

They are old LBF.

Walthers had a news blurb about them being a new supplier. They have a bunch of stuff listed, but it doesn’t look like any are in stock yet.

Hubert was at the Timonium show this weekend (about the only positive thing I can say about the show) and his cars are very nice. High quality cars with crisp printing. Definitely on the same level as in intermountain car. He does tons of road numbers for each car. Frank Hubert was manning the table himself, and he seems very committed to a quality product at what I would say is a reasonable price (considering what you’re getting).

I’m not Frank, or a shill, just an impressed consumer.

I like what I’m reading so far, especially about the many road numbers. Seems like it’ll be worthwhile to get a couple. I wonder if they’ll go mainstream like the others or if they’ll continue to be an obscure brand for a while. You guys know that competition between vendors is great for the consumer looking for a bargain. At twenty five bucks or so each I think It’ll be a while before I get all ten of the ones I want.
