I read on another forum that InterMountain will make a CN SD40-2W. http://irailway.qwestoffice.net/
For a lots of Canadian and many US modelers, this is an important (icon) model.
Please IM, do your homework. Do not let us down on this one.
Remember IM: Model railroading is fun but a serious matter…
Thanks for listening to us.

Hi Michel
Thanks for the heads up.
I just pre-ordered 8 Canadian National units.

I ordered 2 stripes units, one with dynamic brakes and the second one without.
Not much interest for SD40-2W on MR forum, wonder why ?

I’m keeping an eye on it in the hope for a good-quality sound equipped SD40-2.

Thanks Ken for the info. I am also a member of Atlas forum.
I am quite surprised by the lack of interest of MR forum members for this model.
123 SD40-2W were built and most of them are still in operation just about everywhere in North america.
I would like to understand why so little interest on this forum ?

Despite your claim, they’re really not that common. I think they’re cool locos, but I doubt I get one.

Okay.
The railroad I follow didn’t have any.
I think that any diesel which has a “W” associated with it is ugly.
And I already have enough junk stuff around the basement as it is.
The CN was about it. RR picture archive shows a couple sold to leasing companies, but that’s about it.
