New Joe Fugate Video - OUTSTANDING!

Just got the latest video from Joe (my wife purchased the set for my birthday). OUTSTANDING! It was great to see how static grass works and Joe’s description on how to build a static grass machine yourself using 12V makes the whole series worth the price. No wait, all the stuff on the other videos makes the series worth the price, so I guess the static grass machine instruction is an extra bonus.

Seriously, Joe’s videos are great and his step by steps don’t take anything for granted, but at the same time do not talk down to one. I really enjoy the ratios he gives for his weathering and scenery color mixtures - so much better than “mix up a dirt color.”

Although not all of the material in the video series is applicable to me, I enjoy watching all of it as I learned alot and heck, his layout just darn fun to watch.

Great job Joe!

Dave

And, no, Joe isn’t paying me to say these things.

No Joe’s paying me and I’m paying you. [:D]

Seriously, what are the titles/topics of the video? I’m thinking of buying a couple soon.

I got the video to a few days ago.

It is really great. Perhaps the best one yet. Their is such a wealth of information.

Truly recommended. Get the whole series, best 100$ you can spend in this hobby.

I have Joe’s first three videos and they are all very good. Vol 3: Electrical and control secrets, in particular, I found very helpful.

Tom

I got Vol. 5 yesterday, and I have found the whole set to be an excellent resource…

I ordered the DVD a couple of days ago, I’m really looking forward to get it in my hands. I have all the rest of his DVD’s and they are outstanding!!!

Looking forward to getting mine, as I got an email from them stating that it would be shipped out on April 30th! So hopefully it will arrive this week…anticipation…[:-^]…is making me wait!

I received mine via 1st class mail on Thursday, it is really excellent, Joe does a 1st class job. I have the other DVD’s of Joe’s series also, and they are equally well done and very informative. pssssssst thanks for the $ spacemouse lol

I just viewed #5 today, and it is really terrific, as are all of Joe’s other videos! I think Joe is contributing to the hobby in a way that will see him enshrined with the John Armstrongs, Linn Westcotts, and other great educator/communicators/inspirational modelers the hobby has been blessed with.

David

I second that, Dave. The beauty of Joe’s presentations are an outstanding contribution to the hobby and they are applicable to any scale! I am a long-time fan and have the whole collection to date, and am looking forward to more! It is much more refreshing than the “throw anything together and make a profit” kind of thing others have done. jc5729 John Colley, Port Townsend, WA

[#ditto] Except that I received mine on Monday, May 5/08. Best $125.00 Canadian, (bought mine BEFORE the $$'s equalized [banghead]) anyone could ever spend for a complete set of instructional video’s. Thanks Joe.

In case anyone is thinking otherwise, neither Joe or the Wee Vacuum Living Rodent have bribed me either.

Blue Flamer.

Space,

You can get a good idea of what is included in Joe’s videos on his website http://model-trains-video.com I think the best bet is to get the whole series - I think I learned something on each disc that has either inspired me to do something new or will save me enough bucks in the long run to more than pay for the set.

I agree! The entire series is an important contribution to the hobbiest, regardless of skill level and scale modeled. I would list this latest one as the pick of the litter but all are excellent.

My packing list says “end of subscription” I sure hope there are more coming! Maybe Joe could shed some light on future efforts?

I have the entire five volume series and consider it a good investment for my model railroading library. I also have the three OPS videos. These are great too as I am building a large HO layout for operating. Not only is it nice to view what works, but also to see what doesn’t work.
