Here is the latest on my new plan.
This is HO scale and running DCC. It has a hidden staging area at the very botom and the smallest radius is 24". There is a 3% grade up and around the mountain with Helper Districts at the top and bottom. I have the island at the bottom left and was going to put some logging camps there. With the staging area I can still run Freight and Passengers through…
Do you see something that should be changed???

Thanks
Is that triple loop in the middle a helix for gaining height? Otherwise it doesn’t make a lot of sense. A real railroad wouldn’t run trains around in a circle several times like just for the fun of it. The Tehacapi Loop in California does loop around over itself as a means of climbing a grade but it makes just a single loop, not several. Unless that is going to be a hidden helix, I would reduce it to a single loop at most.
Do you have physical access on all sides of the layout ?
Remember that if a train derails 4 or 5 foot away from an aisle, you have to be able to reach it.
Regards,
The only place for access issues is the large mntn area…But I will be putting in a hatch there…
Here is the latest…
I added double track with a different way up & down aound the mountain…mostly because of the staging area…
That has been moved to the very bottom…
I will have logging areas at the tops of the 2 mntns…with a sawmill at one end and a small town at the other…
