new layout

im building a layout in a trailer, its 30x7 i would like to do a container yard in my layout but i dont know what kind of businesses to use that would need containers, i found some that would use them but it would have to be on a semi trailer. If somebody can help to tell me were i would take those containers after leavin the yard before they went out to businesses that would be a great help. Any new track plans would be appreciated to …

There is some discussion of small inter-modal yards in this thread: http://cs.trains.com/TRCCS/forums/p/196311/2145624.aspx#2145624

Any industry that gets a shipment via semi truck could get containers. Large commercial stores (Walmart, Target, etc) manufacturing plants (chemical, auto, etc) also large shippers (UPS, fedex). Plus, items being shipped from overseas (China) are much more likely to be shipped in a container. It would be much harder to list the things that can’t be shipped in a container than the ones that are.

Perhaps I don’t understand the question, but in context of the railroad the containers basically load onto the railroad at the ship yard and get moved to the container yard. In the container yard they are placed onto truck frames (semi-trailers) where the get moved to the destination industry or business. To have a good container yard on a model railroad one does not need to model the final destination places for the containers.
