New Layout

My names Jim,first Thanks for the imformation on reusing cork bed, clened up like new.i am building a new layout, L constrution with 1/4" pine16" on center has anybody used 7/16"OSB4x8’ sheets painted with 1" or 2" blueboard Thanks

First off, good luck with the layout. Don’t use the OSB board in any fashion or you will kick yourself. It is very heavy for starters and it will warp and swell with changes in the moisture in the air and over time will be a pain in the rear, stick with plywood at least 1/2" thick, ideally 5/8" BC or 3/4" BC. The BC means it is sanded smooth on one side and is a step up from standard CDX. You also don’t need to get as elaborate as furniture grade plywood either, it’s a waste of money considering you are going to just cover it up with track and scenery.
Hope this helps a little bit.

Jim,
if you are going to model water, consider using woodland scenics realistic water. it is much easier than 2 part epoxies. Also it doesnt have the strong fumes associated with them.
