New Lenz DCC decoders

In the MR new products section there was anouncement from Lenz about their new Gold series DCC decoders. It describes them as having “uninteruptible signal processing for operation on dirty track”. Are these the ones that they were showing off earlier this year? They had decoders that could roll over a sheet of paper and keep on going without interuption. However there is no mention on their website that these are out.

Has anyone seen further information about these decoders? To me, a decoder that defeats dirty track and electrical discontinuities like switch points would be very attractive. I can see converting some of my more sensitive locomotives right away. - Nevin

damn right it does.

it might persuare me to go into DCC (but i want sound too so i need the soundtraxx DSS (or something) decoders as well)

i am seeing lots of ££££££signs on the horizon

by the way, if anyone could shed some light on how they work that would be appreciated. i assume that they have a capacitor on them or something that can keep the loco moving for a long enough distance to get it accross the dirty patch but i don’t really know.

From other posts on this same general topic it seems that even painted track doesn’t deter this decoder! Since I have a small roster to convert (or replace), I’m seriously considering this Lenz decoder for my transition to DCC.
The MR product review page was posted under N, which really encouraged me. this looks like a really significant breakthrough.
