New Lionel 2-8-2 brake squeeks

A friend of mine just purchased one of the new semi scale Lionel 2-8-2’s. It has nice full sounds except 1) is there a volume control? and 2) Can you turn off the brake squeeks? I find the brake sounds that happen when the locomotive goes into a curve very annoying, ruining an otherwise great locomotive.

Conventional version or TMCC version? In any event, there should be a volume control under the tender. Jon

The loco is conventional control, not the TMCC version.
