Can I rewire one unit to ALWAYS run in reverse for AA hookups? Can this be done without damage to the locomotive?
yes it can be done. I did this with a pair of Lionel FT units. Remove the shell, find where both sets of motor wires come together on the circuit board, remove male socket from the board, remove wires from male socket and swap positions. I used a small jewelers screwdriver to bend the small barbs in side the male plug out of the way ( back in flush) . Then pry the barbs back out so when reinstalled the will not fall back out. Now when started it will be in reverse. Hope that helps.
