I was wondering if anybody knows the shipping date for the new Lionel Pennsy Flyer set with the 0-8-0 steamer…I have one on preorderand from my LHS but all the info I get is summer of 08. Thanks for the help!
The best advice asch is to periodically check the shipping schedule on the Lionel website. It gets updated regularily. From my watching, Lionel seems to do better as far as accuracy and timeliness on the lower end and starter items. the last new item I bought was the starter Reading box car from last year. And the car came out just a little ahead of when it was suppose to be out.
So whatever the date for that set on the Lionel website, I’d say you could count on it. Sometimes Lionel will ship a partial quantity on something like a starter set that has a very large production run.
Also note, that if the shipping schedule lists say July as the date, that usually refers to the end of the month. Also consider that the dates tend to reflect when items have arrived at Lionel and it will take a little longer for dealers to have the items.
