Big news for Canadian modellers from Rapido Trains: They have announced the first-ever accurate plastic model of VIA Rail’s F40PH-2D locomotive.
The HO scale unit is being made in collaboration with VIA Rail.

Yes and you have until April to put your pre-order in and if you don’t put a pre-order in, chances are you won’t get one. I’m more interested in finding out first hand what the Bendy Track, is like. FEB. 18, the first shipment is due.
I receive His newsletter and that Engine is really highly detailed though.

I was at a friend’s place yesterday for a operating session and this loco was brought up. My friend, ex member TA462 can’t wait for these as he is a passenger train freak. I honestly didn’t know what it was and had to google it on my phone. [(-D]

When I received the June 2013 MR I saw the review of the Rapido Canadian. After reading the review I thought, Wow that’s beautiful and at a decent price for what you get. I want one!
Oops, sorry. Preorders had to be placed some four years prior to its release… you lose!
That’s the reality of today’s hobby climate. I had dropped the ball and wasn’t aware of the Canadian from Rapido. Lesson learned: You have to stay on top of your favorite manufacturers in order to get a chance to purchase any future models. (How long ago did BLI announce the Sharknoses?)
At least the “Park” series observation car is going to be available in the future and I DO have a preorder in for one of those…
