New Member, and New Project. N&W Hi Nose C425.

This is my N&W Hi Hood C-425 Phase III Project. The unit is an ATLAS Phase I with a Stewart C-630 Hi Hood and Cab (at 15 dollars for the 630 shell, this is the most expensive hi hood I’ve purchased to date). This modification was a little more involved than I thought it would be because the Stewart hood sits a little lower than the ATLAS does. I had to build up the bottom of the cab a bit with plastic. The cab steps are from an ATLAS Canadian Cab C-424 as is the fuel tank. I still have to make the battery boxes that go under the walkway.

From one Ohioan to another … welcome ! That project looks quite impressive. Keep us updated.

Thank You, I will. I’m from up Ashtabula way.

Newark area here. When I saw the Coshocton, I thought perhaps you were in the next county over. Go Buckeyes !

No, I model the old W&LE Zanesville line.

Excellent! And no masking required to paint the unit!

Just a slight pedantic nit – I think the three-width stepped radiator housing and snow shields over the central air intakes qualify the prototype unit more as a Phase IIa carbody; the IIb’s (or “III’s”) had two widths of sheet metal for the housing and no snow shields.

Beautifull job so far [tup] Nice to see that some people still actually model and kitbash things.
