Model Railroader puts out a great line of “How To” books. I’ve bought a few of them and find they are very helpful. Check out your local hobby shop for them.

Stay in these forums long enough and every bit of information you need can be sought , or read from questions asked by others.

Helped me alot in the past months

In addition to the forum, books, hobby shop, you might check your local library. You may be surprised how many books and videos on the subject they have or can obtain through inter-libaary loan.

Dale

yes, inter-librarey loans are awsome.

I learned alot from the Woodland Scenics video. Like anything else, they make look so easy, so I pacticed on an old piece of plywood.

.[#welcome] Hang around here as much as you can. There are a lot of good guys/girls here that can help you in every aspect you encounter.

Welcome!!!

I’ll just agree with everyone above. The Kalmbach books are great. I haven’t seen the Kalmbach scenery videos yet, but they look to be very useful. There are great scenery ideas on this forum, the posts are great and many have some great pics of their layouts on the web.

Bottom line. Read as much as you can, get several ideas on how to do the same thing, Try out each and then pic the way you like thebest.

Bottom line - HAVE FUN!

welcome to the forum… btw check out the coffee shop for some good conversation with the friendliest bunch of gents around
