I just got an email from my favorite Internet Hobby Shop and he now has new Model Power cars and trucks available. I think Model Power makes some of the best 1/87 scale automobiles and they are priced cheap. Here is a list of the new ones, look for them at your LHS or Walmart.

[:(!] [V] [:(!] [V] Grr, did they not get the memo! - NO MORE HO SCALE 1960s MUSTANGS EVER! (albiet they did come out with it much earlier than the Mustang Thread I keep editing on this forum).
Well, yes, Model Power had a great idea in introducing the very reasonably priced, decent looking ‘Minis’ diecast vehicle line, but I was a bit disappointed when they took the route of the '57 Chevy and duplicated at lot of models which were already available from Busch, Herpa, etc. Mercedes, VW Beetles, Mini Coopers, even Sprinters were available before, and so you had a duplication of effort in effect. Wasted Effort, I think.
Now, I have several Mini’s (how could anyone not), but they are more or less originals of modern era vehicles (alas, they chose the less common convertible versions of the T-Bird, the Firebird, and the Viper - and these vehicles aren’t all that common anyway - but I still have them as they are nicely done).
Hmmm, I remember some company came out with a late 80s/early 90s Jeep Cherokee, but due to some licensing issue couldn’t call it that (they just called it a SUV). Perhaps Model Power could come out with some late 90s/early 2000s sedans which look a lot like Civics, Camrys, Corollas, Sentras, and so on, but are generically labeled (modeler will decal or paint his own Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda badges as necessary) [:D]
Those MP cars are great! On my visit to klien’s recently I picked up a whole mess of 'em.
TA462, can you please contact me via email? I need to ask you a question.
Thanks,
Sean
Yeah I remember that in a con-cor flyer I got back in 1995. The models were from Herpa and the colors they had were blue, white red, black, and a green I think. I have the red and the black ones. I believe the model they used was a 1995 Jeep Cherokee. I do like those model power and High Speed models.
My only major gripe is with the ear for mounting it in the display case on the bottom but that shouldn’t be too much of a bother unless you were modelling a vehicle being towed by a tow truck and for $1.67 at wal-mart you really can’t go too far wrong.
