In addition to the features you listed, Athearn’s HO models of FMC-built 4700 cu. ft. covered hoppers have wire grab irons and much more delicate “end cages” than the old MDC Roundhouse kit and early Athearn production of it after it bought MDC. They’re among the best detailed freight cars in Athearn’s Ready To Roll line. They replicate the full-sized cars with an unusual horizontal “crease” about halfway up their sides.
