I will miss having Santa Fe in the name, but that doesn’t matter so much to me anymore after the heritage warbonnet paint scheme left and the swoosh came along. A while ago someone suggested Great Western Railway. That’s a name I would second.
Railroads and railroaders are steeped in heritage and tradition…more so than any other industry I know. Forgetting the roots of Burlington, Northern Pacific, Great Northern and Santa Fe all run counter to that idiosyncracy. It’'s time honored by even the most cut throat of railroad men. I don’t think he’s that kind of man, investor, or railroader and would urge him to consider the practice.
