Good afternoon everyone!
Trains is pleased to offer a new Website feature: TrainsTube.
You can see the first one of these staff/guest interviews with Associate Editor Andy Cummings interviewing Wisconsin & Southern engineer Matt Heeren about what it is like to work for a regional railroad as a locomotive engineer.
Take a look at it on our front page. We’ve already got other guests lined up in the coming weeks.
Naturally, we’d like to hear your thoughts about this new Web interview feature. Feel free to drop me a note to jwrinn@trainsmag.com and let us know how TrainsTube can serve you.
Have a great day on the railroad! Jim Wrinn
I liked it…
The concept should go far in showing the rest of the Trains fans that most of us who do this for a living are just everyday ordinary folks like them, other than we have a really cool job!
Andy, on the other hand…ummm…you guys might want to put him on a caffeine free diet…if someone had popped a paper bag behind him, you would have had to peel him off the ceiling!
I got the feeling Andy hasn’t spent much time in front of a camera before.
Although that kinda added to the “show” so to speak.
So, when is the next installment?
…“Trains Tube”…Sorry, don’t see it…?
…Thanks Ed.
I liked it too. Andy did just fine. Keep these things coming!!
Thanks for the heads up Jim, I enjoyed seeing Andy doing his first interview on the new feature and am looking forward to seeing more of this in the future…how often will it appear with new “clips”?.
I enjoyed it too, and thought Andy did fine. What made the show for me was that these are real people and not professional actors. Looking forward to the next installment.

Glad to see this new feature! Really enjoyed the video. Andy, you did a good job! And like someone else asked: How often will there be new installments of Trains Tube?
Neat! I watched it yesterday and liked it. Though I gotta say… I just now stopped laughing. I had just noticed the headliner about Andy Cummings asks the tough questions. Tough questions? What “tough” questions could he possibly be asking, I thought to myself, just as he started to question the guy if locomotives have power steering fluid! “so, you really gotta wrestle with that steering wheel then, hu?” HAHAHA! [;)][:D] Ahh, timing IS everything.
Kidding aside, good show, hope to see more.
Sweet! I look forward to seeing more!
Thanks, everyone!
Can’t say much about how often the feature will run. We’re just going to to do it as we get vict… er, visitors that are willing to come on. And, of course, only on days when we have plenty of coffee around the office.
Best,
Andy Cummings

Pronunciation problems aside, I’m looking forward to “Trains Tube with Kat Kube”!
To be, or not to be…
You can expect to see shortline and regional railroad expert Roy Blanchard in the coming weeks!
More guests as we book them!
