Can anyone give me a few ‘Hot Spots’ in the New Orleans area. I am going there next week and will have some free time away from biz to catch a look at some fast freights. I here there are some good areas there…any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

For trainwatching in new orleans the altime best , must see is the Huey Long bridge. All roads use it even if only for interchange. I have been on it with 5 trains there at once. Other good spots are NOUPT for Amtrak and private cars, the L&N bridge over the industrial canal, and railroad street in Kenner to see KCS and IC or whoever they are this week
Outstanding! And I thank you for the information. I will be sure to check it out. I even looked on a map and booked a hotel in the area! THX, Hycappy
Go out INTERSTATE 10 TOWARDS B.R. ALONG THE BONNET CARRE SPILLWAY. ALSO TRY CRESCENT CITY CONNECTION ALONG HI-RISE.[8D]
WHOA! OLD POST! But how much is there really left of N.O to railfan?
I would think almost all of the lines are still there, and probably most of the interchange. Most of the industry was along the river or on the west bank and was not flooded.
